Local California community to reduce energy costs and gain sustainable benefits
【SAN MATEO, CA (Sept 16, 2013)】– The San Mateo Public Library today announced its installation of a highly efficient solar energy system that can annually reduce its energy bill by approximately $15,000, generate/save about 96,000 kilowatt hours of electricity, and reduce dangerous carbon dioxide emissions by more than 50,000 pounds. Called a Photovoltaic (PV) installation, this state-of-the-art system, uses proprietary solar modules manufactured in Delaware by Motech Americas, which will provide clean renewable energy to serve the library and benefit the community in the short- and long-term. The installation was done by Anaheim-based AAA Solar Electric.
According to David Ngo, Sr. Vice-President of AAA Solar Electric, “This is a valuable step forward for the San Mateo community. It reflects their level of responsibility by choosing renewable solar energy to lower their utility bills, to add to the library’s sustainability position, and to enhance the educational value it can deliver.
“In fact,” he said, “Because this sizable library has an established sustainability- education program and once an informational kiosk is installed, officials will take the extra step of providing a real-time display of solar energy and output information, so patrons could learn more about the related conservation.”
Dave Holleran, Senior Manager of Module Sales for Motech Americas, added, "AAA Solar Electric was an ideal choice for managing this project because of their technical skill and their experience in installing MOTECH products. Motech Americas works closely with many independent solar installers and integrators, such as AAA, so we can provide the highest power and most reliable, clean energy modules for a wide range of needs.”
MOTECH has nurtured a long-standing heritage in solar panel innovation and production. Over the past 20 years, the company has created rigorous durability and reliability tests to ensure lifetime performance; is the first company in Taiwan to produce solar cells; introduced the first roof-integrated residential module; and ensures that all modules manufactured in the Delaware facility qualify under the ‘Buy American’ clause of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
