TAIPEI, Taiwan – February 23rd, 2013 –Motech Industries Inc. (TWO: 6244TW) (Motech) announced that using its photovoltaic inverters - PVMate 2900U~7500U series - in PV systems can prevent modules from potential relative to ground. The goals of boosting the efficiency of PV systems and extending the lifetime of PV modules effectively can then be achieved.
PID (Potential Induced Degradation) effects describe the phenomenon when there is a high voltage stress between PV modules and the ground, the foresaid potential difference will easily induce the problem of power degradation as well as causing damage to cells or modules, which will lead to the decrease of the output power of the entire PV system. Therefore, PID-free modules one after another have been launched into the market since 2012, yet the price is higher comparing to normal modules. Some system installers indicate that a certain quantity of PV power plants face the problem of performance degradation, some of them can be imputed to PID effects.
Motech PVMate 2900U~7500U series inverters are photovoltaic inverters with the function of positive or negative grounding, which provides different grounding options. By using Motech PV inverters, customers could choose normal modules while still gaining the benefit of PID-free.
