Motech Industries, Inc. is dedicated to the research, development, and manufacture of high quality solar products and services, ranging from Photovoltaic (PV) cells, PV modules, PV inverters, to PV power systems. With the advent of module production and the success of Motech’s proprietary commercial-scale fluidized bed reactors used in the creation of high quality polysilicon, 2010 marks the year of Motech’s initiation as a full service solar solution provider. In 2011, Motech was once again ranked the top ten solar cell manufacturers worldwide in terms of production output.
Since our founding in 1981, Motech evolved from a test and measurement instruments designer and manufacturer to a full service global solar company. In 1997 Motech Solar Division was established. In 1999, Motech began producing solar cells and pioneered the manufacturing and marketing of high-quality mono and multi-crystalline silicon solar cells in Taiwan while offering our products across the globe. The business unit of test and measurement instruments was then called Motech Instruments Division. Due to our business expansion, Motech’s official company name was changed to Motech Industries, Inc. from the original Meter International Corporation.
Building upon our expertise on instruments and PV cells design and manufacture, Motech established Motech Power Division in 2002, concentrating on the design and engineering of PV systems. The purpose of Motech’s involvement in PV power system business was to promote the use of solar energy as well as reduce the pollution from electricity generation. In 2003, “Modern Technology for a Sustainable World” became Motech’s slogan, emphasizing our belief on maintaining a sustainable environment. In 2004 Motech began developing PV inverters, a key component for PV systems; our inverters are ranked at the highest efficiency according to the California Energy Commission’s List of Eligible Inverters. In January 2012, Motech sold the assets of the Test and Measurement Department under Motech’s Instruments Division to B&K Precision Corporation (“B&K”) in order to fully concentrate on the development of solar technologies and business. Furthermore, in May 2012, Motech consolidated its Instruments Division and Power Division into Power Instrument Business Center. With the integration of resources from these two divisions, we expect to provide our customers with expertised and comprehensive services.
Motech’s headquarter and business units are located in Taipei and Tainan, Taiwan. We also have subsidiaries in China, Japan, and America. We believe that we will consistently grow at the fastest pace in the Pan-Asia region while bringing to the world a brighter prospect with Motech’s core technologies and capacities.
Motech’s dedication to total quality management and continuous improvement has led us to obtain the ISO 9002 certification in 1996. We are now ISO 9001 certified for all Taiwan based business units and fabrication centers.
Corporate Social Responsibility is taken seriously at Motech. We are committed to complying with governmental regulations, reducing work environmental risks, improving environmental safety and health standards, and protecting the clean environment. To emphasize our commitment, we earned the ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certificates in 2006 and the TOHSHMS and TUV Rheinland REACH-SVHC certifications in 2009.
Motech is listed on Taiwan’s Over-the-Counter (OTC) market under 6244.
